Art: Elisa Sighicelli wins the first edition of the "Artisti per Frescobaldi" award

January, 2013
Today the winner of the award Artisti per Frescobaldi 2013 was declared. Elisa Sighicelli has been declared the winner of the first edition with her work Senza titolo (una botte di ferro).
The awards ceremony was held at Fondazione Stelline, a partner in the project and a location of great prestige, where the works of art were, and will continue to be on display through the 3rd of February.

Artisti per Frescobaldi, conceived by Tiziana Frescobaldi, Artistic Director, and curated by Ludovico Pratesi, is dedicated to the promotion of the most promising contemporary artists who use new expressive styles such as photography and video installations to express their concepts.
The first edition showcases three Italian artists: Rä di Martino, Giovanni Ozzola and Elisa Sighicelli, who were requested to take inspiration from the CastelGiocondo estate in Montalcino where the Frescobaldi family produces the Brunello wine of the same name.

The award furthers the Frescobladi family’s tradition of art patronage. For over 700 years they have had ties with the world of art and its artists, enjoying relationships with Donatello, Michelozzo Michelozzi, and Filippo Brunelleschi.
With Artisti per Frescobaldi the family undertakes to support the latest generation of artists: Tiziana Frescobaldi seeks, in this way, to continue the family tradition with a cultural project that calls for the creation of contemporary works of art that link wine and art.
